“Hi, I'm Kieran and I came to Hong Kong with HKEDU in the autumn of 2016 and I'm very happy that I did!!  Firstly, I had a very smooth & clear application and interview process that included an interview with Maggie and a school interview with my Principal (as well as a separate preparation chat with Maggie before the school one).  During these Skype calls, Maggie was helpful and supportive, answering my many questions about my potential future work and wider life!  Before my arrival, I was introduced to my soon-to-be flatmate over email, plus when I landed I was met at the airport and taken to my new home in Mong Kok.  All of this meant that, while the culture shock was definitely challenging, a lot of things were taken care of.  Once I started at the school, my principal mostly dictated my day-to-day life but, if there were any matters to be discussed or queried, Maggie was on hand to answer my messages and provide assistance.

Alongside my job, HKEDU has run a number of social activities that have been good to get to know fellow teachers in the company working in other schools.  These have included parties at Oktoberfest, Christmas, summer BBQs - and the Chinese New Year Red Packets are pretty good too.

All in all, I've had a great experience coming out to HK with HKEDU...and I'm still here in this mad & fun city now! “
